I feel like all the extra cutting at the start of the vault (including showing the takeoff multiple times...why?) just confuses what they were trying to do. I feel like if they just showed approach, takeoff, "first flip", then cut to "second flip" and landing, it would've been a lot more clear what they were going for (even if savvy viewers would still be able to tell it wasn't a real double), but when every piece of the vault is shown multiple times, that just makes it *more* difficult to recognize that no, this one particular segment repeating is supposed to be two separate things.

Also, since y’all are not informed apparently, Carlotta already apologised to Biles, plus this happened 8 years ago, Carlotta doesn’t even compete anymore. I also wanted to add some context to this video. Ferlito was forced to compete in Jesolo (before Rio 2016) even though she clearly expressed to her coaches she was exhausted after training for Rio 2016. During that time she was abused and facing a lot of challenges in the gymnastics world. All of this clearly was a lot on her and she wasn’t probably at her 100% physically and mentally to compete in this “non-important” Italian competition before an Olympic. Your comments are not appropriate under this video, y’all are very evil and should be more informed before making a statement. She was going through a lot at that time, a lot of pressure and yes she made a racist comment but she apologised 8 years ago, y’all need to touch some grass. After Rio, Ferlito exposed the abuses and abusers that her and other athletes had to go through and for that she was left out by all competitions by the Italian Federation around 2018/2019 without being her decision, she still loved this sport and was still very competitive.

USA here. I hope you are okay. There’s enough people on your case from your past remarks involving our gymnasts. So I’m not going to jump in. We are damn proud of all our gymnasts (both men & women). Like you, they practice/train, dang hard. They fight off injuries. Even if they’re injured, they don’t show it. They are physically and mentally tough and that is carried well beyond their Olympian timeframes. So my hat off to all gymnasts but especially to our American gymnasts. Ponor looked to me like she was on a whole other level compared to the other two. Her routine looked like it had more difficulty and she just flowed through the routine.

FYI The actress, Maddy Curley actually performed that vault. This was her acting debut, before which she was an elite gymnast at the University of North Carolina. She was 25 years old when this movie was released.

The only gymnast to really successfully complete the Produnova is Produnova. The others made a mess of it.
